I restarted playing poker in July 2024. Quite different game from 45 years ago.
Enjoying the games. And looking to learn.
I've noticed that I need to learn a lot! But getting tired of being a small fish without the necessary conceptual framework to act. This is a good site to learn at. I'm starting to put it together. So much information out there, it's easy to get lost in the details.
Books read:
o. Essential Poker Math - pretty basic but very good overview for someone who knew nothing about Hi/Lo or poker jargon.
o. High Low Split Poker - 1992 Ray Zee book with strategy overview and concepts. I wanted that to get a feel for the meta concepts.
o. Mental Game of Poker by Tendler. I needed this one since I have PTSD from trading futures and mutual funds for a long time. Only playing with chips here, but the ego is important and emotions generated are real.
o. More on tap later. There is so much out there. I think I'll focus on PLOMastermind next. Including Habegger book on Mastering Small Stakes Pot Limit Omaha.
