No Remorse<\/strong><\/h2>\nDuring the sentencing hearing, Borden appeared to show no remorse for the suffering he had caused and refused to take responsibility for the killing, repeatedly placing the blame on the victim. He also became belligerent towards the judge, and had to be physically restrained by bailiffs.<\/p>\n
Chief Deputy District Attorney Zach Young called the killing \u201csenseless\u201d and called for a life sentence based on the defendant\u2019s lack of remorse and previous criminal history, which included prior incidents of violence.<\/p>\n
Young highlighted Borden\u2019s \u201cabsolute refusal to comply with societal standards and poor compliance history with law enforcement while on previous grants of parole and even while incarcerated.\u201d<\/p>\n
