Contradictory Decision<\/strong><\/h2>\n\u201cThe State asked for an \u2018iconic\u2019 Integrated Resort Development to \u2018put the Gold Coast on the world stage as an international tourism destination,\u2019 to lift \u2018the Queensland economy\u2019 and \u2018provide confidence to invest in the Gold Coast,\u2019\u201d complained ASF director Louis Chen in an op-ed for the Gold Coast Bulletin last month.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe State\u2019s decision to terminate the project contradicts its own objectives for the community,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWe are left wondering why the Queensland Government would go against its own consultation results, turning its back on a viable project and the will of the majority.\u201d<\/p>\n
