Two women got into a fight early Sunday at an Oregon gaming property. Afterward, they left the casino before crashing their pickup truck into a nearby building.

The two had been drinking at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort. At one point, they got into a struggle, but they left the casino in the same truck.

About a mile from the gaming property, the truck was driven into the Lock & Key Adventurer’s Guild on Highway 101 in Lincoln City, Ore. The impact shattered the business’s front window and damaged its exterior walls, police said.

A short time later, police located a pickup truck with front-end damage. After a records check, officers determined Shailin Moses, 27, owned the vehicle.

Officers went to her Lincoln City apartment where she and the passenger in the truck, Mary Sanders, 24, revealed they had been drinking at the casino for hours and still looked intoxicated, police said. Moses allegedly was driving the truck when it struck the building. She was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, and failure to perform the duties of a driver when property is damaged.

While at the apartment, officers also discovered the two had allegedly left their young children alone in a different apartment while they were at the casino.

One child was six years old and the other was two. When police arrived at the other apartment, the children were found crying and still unsupervised.

Both Moses and Sanders were charged with second-degree child neglect.

Both women were booked at the Lincoln County Jail, according to YachatsNews.com, a regional news site.

Neither of the suspects was injured from the fight or crash.

Fake Shooting Report at Rivers Casino

A false report of a mass shooting at Illinois’ Rivers Casino has led to the recent arrest of the man who allegedly made up the incident when speaking to a police dispatcher.

Jaime Ramos, 23, of Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct, Patch reported.

Ramos told authorities on Saturday that eight individuals were involved in the shooting at the Des Plaines gaming property. Upon hearing the report, Des Plaines and Rosemont police officers rushed to the casino.

No such incident took place, and because of the call, the number of officers assigned to other locations was depleted for a while, police explained.

A short time later, Ramos, who was involved in a fight with another person at the property, was located at the casino. Officers said Ramos called about the fake incident on his cell phone.

Prison Sentence for Casino Assault

A man who kicked and punched another person at a Minnesota gaming property is heading to prison.

Shawn Lussier, 55, of Red Lake, Minn., was sentenced Tuesday to 46 months for a domestic assault by a habitual offender charge. He was also given three years of supervised release by US District Court Judge Michael J. Davis.

The attack took place in April 2023 in a hotel room at Minnesota’s Seven Clans Casino, according to a statement from Minnesota US Attorney Andrew M. Luger. Lussier pleaded guilty to the charge last November.

The victim suffered a bloody lip, a one-inch cut on their head, and several bruises. During the fight, Lussier allegedly damaged the contents of a hotel room, doing an estimated $450 in damage, police said.

Lussier had prior convictions for domestic violence and alcohol-related charges, authorities said.
