(Image: CBS News)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The <em>DailyMail.com<\/em> reported the unnamed 56-year-old driver and his wife perished instantly after his Bentley struck a border station at 11:27 a.m. at the Rainbow Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The fancy vehicle was traveling at speeds as high as 100 mph and then struck a curb and guardrail, became airborne, and exploded after landing in a screening area, according to media and eyewitness reports. Massive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/tioga-downs-casino-arson-suspect-charged-30-horses-died-in-blaze-video\/\">flames<\/a>, perhaps as high as 30 to 40 feet, followed. Debris from the car spread over the pavement at the bridge linking the U.S. and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>As authorities investigated the incident, it was reported the New York businessman and his wife stopped at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/casino-crime-round-up-chemical-attack-threat-at-new-york-state-casino\/\">Seneca Niagara Resort &amp; Casino<\/a> before the crash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation into the incident that occurred near the Rainbow Bridge,\u201d a casino spokesman told <em>DailyMail.com<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"main-blockquote\"><p><strong>We have reviewed and provided information related to a vehicle that stopped at Seneca Niagara Resort &amp; Casino only for a matter of minutes shortly before the crash occurred.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The duo may have gone to the casino to change money, unnamed sources told the news outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Initial reports from <em>CNN<\/em> said the driver may have suffered a \u201cmedical emergency\u201d before the crash.<\/p>\n<p>The two were heading to a Kiss concert in Canada, but it was canceled, <em>CNN<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The driver reportedly lived in Grand Isle, New York.<\/p>\n<h2>Terrorism-Link Investigated<\/h2>\n<p>Authorities later announced the crash was not believed to have been linked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/thwarted-terrorist-ambush-in-cyprus-reminiscent-of-2021-attack-involving-playtech\/\">terrorism,<\/a> despite initial concerns.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_300230\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-300230\" data-style=\"width: 858px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-300230 size-post-thumbnail-858xAUTO\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/new44-858x379.jpg\" alt=\"Police vehicles at Rainbow Bridge following an explosion\" width=\"858\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/new44-858x379.jpg 858w, https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/new44-430x190.jpg 430w, https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/new44.jpg 1285w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 858px) 100vw, 858px\" \/><figcaption  id=\"caption-attachment-300230\"class=\"text-description\">Police vehicles at the Rainbow Bridge following an explosion. Officials briefed President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/new-laptop-photos-apparently-show-hunter-biden-driving-172-mph-to-las-vegas-orgy\/\">Joe Biden<\/a> and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about the deadly incident.<\/p>\n<p>Specialized crews from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/sands-facing-long-legal-tussle-in-bid-for-new-york-casino\/\">New York City<\/a> Police Department rushed to investigate the crash, as did a wide variety of federal experts on terrorism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Officials were concerned it took place on Thanksgiving Eve at a border crossing. It also took place as there is heightened security nationwide because of risk of terrorist activities, given the current war between Israel and Hamas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer suffered minor injuries from the crash. He was treated at a local hospital.<\/p>\n<h2>Eyewitness Account<\/h2>\n<p>One eyewitness, Dan Ziraldo, told the <em>Niagara Gazette <\/em>he had just left the Seneca One Stop near Seneca Niagara Casino when he saw smoke at the Rainbow Bridge.
