However, sometime between October 16 and Nov. 15, 2023, is likely, since golf&#8217;s all-stars will already be in town for the annual Shriners Children\u2019s Open at TPC Summerlin from October 9-15, and Formula 1 drivers will already be in town for the Las Vegas Grand Prix from November 16-18.<\/p>\n<p>The tourney will feature celebs from \u201cFormula 1 Drive to Survive\u201d and \u201cFull Swing,\u201d two recent <em>Netflix<\/em> sports documentaries that took viewers behind the scenes of racing and golf. The broadcast would be <em>Netflix\u2019s<\/em> first foray into sports livestreaming.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><b>Show Netflix the Money<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Organizing its own event would mean that <em>Netflix<\/em> would save on the billions often required to license a big-league sports package.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe aren\u2019t anti-sports, we\u2019re pro-profit,\u201d <em>Netflix<\/em> co-CEO Ted Sarandos\u00a0told the <em>WSJ,<\/em> admitting that his company hasn\u2019t yet figured out how to bid for professional sports rights in a way that keeps <em>Netflix<\/em> profitable.<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\n<\/em>Last year, <em>Netflix<\/em> lost out to <em>ESPN<\/em> for the livestreaming rights to Formula 1 racing for the next three years. <em>Netflix<\/em> also bid or considered bidding on the rights to livestream tennis and cycling events, the <em>WSJ <\/em>reported.<\/p>\n<p><em>Netflix<\/em> first dipped its toes into livestreaming this year, with a Chris Rock comedy special and a special reunion episode of the \u201cLove is Blind\u201d reality TV series. The latter experiment didn\u2019t go too well, however.
