Schuler on Monday.<\/p>\n
The directive halted \u201cthe acceptance of any wagers on the University of Alabama baseball effective immediately,\u201d according to a copy of the letter made available to Casino.org<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\nOCCC spokesperson Jessica Franks added in a Tuesday email to Casino.org<\/em> that \u201cWe are continuing to look into the matter.\u201d<\/p>\nSchuler said the action occurred after the OCCC \u201creceived reports from one of its certified independent integrity monitors regarding wagers made on the University of Alabama Baseball.\u201d Details weren\u2019t provided on what concerns the monitoring service saw.<\/p>\n
Investigation Continues<\/h2>\n Details on the issues weren\u2019t provided in media reports, but Al.com<\/em>, an Alabama news site, reported that the NCAA is investigating.<\/p>\n\u201cThe NCAA takes sports wagering very seriously and is committed to the protection of student-athlete well-being and the integrity of competition. We are aware of this issue and actively gathering additional information,\u201d an NCAA spokesperson said in a statement provided to Al.com on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Schuler advised that \u201cAny wagers placed on an incomplete sporting event that has had wagering suspended through the issuance of an emergency order must be voided.\u201d So far, Ohio is believed to be the only state regulator that sent a directive halting sportsbooks from taking bets involving Alabama baseball.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
On Friday, U.S. Integrity, a Las Vegas-based sports integrity monitoring firm, notified sportsbooks who use the service there was \u201csuspicious wagering activity\u201d connected to the Alabama-LSU game, according to ESPN<\/em>.<\/p>\nIt was also revealed recently that online gaming company FanDuel stopped taking bets involving Alabama baseball as a \u201cprecautionary measure,\u201d ESPN<\/em> reported.<\/p>\nFavored LSU Wins<\/h2>\n On Friday, top-ranked Louisiana State University defeated Alabama by an 8-6 score in Baton Rouge, La. The LSU Tigers, coached by Jay Johnson, were -245 favorites over Alabama.<\/p>\n
LSU led by 8-1 until the sixth inning was over. Alabama scored five runs in the last two innings but couldn\u2019t overcome the earlier deficit.<\/p>\n

Alabama pitcher Luke Holman, a 20-year-old, 6-foot-4 sophomore, was supposed to start on the mound. He was replaced by reliever Hagan Banks, also a sophomore, about an hour before the game started, according to Al.com<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\nOver the weekend, LSU continued to be victorious over \u2018Bama. They beat the Crimson Tide on Saturday by a 12-8 score and saw a 13-11 win on Sunday.<\/p>\n
