South Shore says in its most recent financial report that The 13 is losing about $10 million a month. In February, the company revealed it needs more capital to open a casino floor \u2013 roughly $44.8 million to be exact.<\/p>\n
For The 13 to incorporate a casino, the resort will first need to partner with one of the enclave’s six licensed operators, and then be approved by the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.<\/p>\n
\nIf the property operates as a standalone hotel, it may be difficult to justify room rates to match its high-end focus,” Bloomberg analyst Margaret Ho said. “Without a casino, it would be nearly impossible to have gamblers book rooms separately with them.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
