The Las Vegas NFL odds on the four potential Super Bowl 53 matchups have the New Orleans Saints favored in two games, and then it’s even point spreads in the other two possible scenarios.
The Westgate SuperBook unveiled odds on the four potential Super Bowl games this week.
If the Kansas City Saints top the New England Patriots, and the Saints beat the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans would be a 1.5-point favorite (over/under 59.5). If the Patriots beat the Chiefs, the Saints would also be a 1.5-point favorite against New England (over/under 56.5 points).
As for the other two potential scenarios, a Chiefs and Rams Super Bowl would be even odds, and the over/under at 63 points. A Patriots and Rams big game would also be pick’em, and the over/under at 57.5 points.
Online sportsbook Bovada has exact outcome odds with the Saints beating the Chiefs the frontrunner at +325. The Chiefs defeating the Saints is next at +375. The longest scenario is the Patriots beating the Rams (+750).
To recap, oddsmakers believe the Saints are the best team. But if Drew Brees loses, the three remaining teams have a nearly equal shot at winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Sunday Odds Unchanged
The NFL Conference Championships go down this Sunday in New Orleans and Kansas City.
At 3:05 pm ET, the Rams and Saints kickoff the NFC Championship. The SuperBook has the home team spotting the visitors 3.5 points (over/under 57). The point spread hasn’t changed since the game with a Super Bowl trip on the line was decided last Sunday.
The nightcap is the AFC Championship at 6:40 pm ET. The Patriots are a field goal underdog against the Chiefs (over/under 55). That line also hasn’t moved since Sunday.
All four favorites covered their spreads during the NFL Playoffs Divisional Round. Sunday, however, marks the first time New England quarterback Tom Brady will been an underdog in 68 starts.
Super Bowl 53 will be played on February 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The Saints retain the shortest odds (7/4), followed by the Chiefs (11/4), and Patriots and Rams (7/2).
Looking Way Ahead: Super Bowl 54
For the other 28 teams, they’re already looking ahead to Super Bowl LIV.
The SuperBook has the Rams with the shortest odds at 6/1. They’re followed by the Chiefs (7/1), Saints (8/1), Patriots (10/1), and Los Angeles Chargers and Chicago Bears (12/1).
The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, which will relinquish that title after being eliminated last weekend by the Saints, are next at 14/1.
One team that has greatly shortened its Super Bowl odds moving forward is Cleveland. The Browns began the 2018 NFL season at 80/1 to win the big game. That’s implied odds of 1.23 percent, with a $100 bet netting $8,000.
Following a successful 2018 – in Browns terms – where rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield showed his has the chops to play in the pros, Cleveland’s 2019 Super Bowl line has been slashed to just 30/1.
