Due to the coronavirus<\/a> pandemic, the world had to change and adapt in many ways in 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The poker industry across the globe was hit\nparticularly hard, as live tournaments suddenly became a no-go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Having hundreds, let alone thousands of people\ngather in the same room and spend hours seated next to each other was out of\nthe question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Therefore, being the biggest and best-known yearly event in all of poker, the World Series of Poker<\/a> had to make some difficult decisions as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n After some back and forth, it was decided to\nmove the entire Series online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This was the first time in the WSOP’s long history<\/a> that there were no live bracelet events, but the first-ever WSOP online turned out a huge success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, although things are slowly getting back to normal, the Series organizers have already announced<\/a> there will be a decent number of tournaments taking place online in 2021 as well, and this practice may continue in the years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
